Education is now at a major turning point and we are in a period of transition from "how (teachers) taught" to "how (learners) learn". In other words, what is now required is education in which the learner takes the initiative. The term "active learning" is used to describe this type of education. This term refers to "education that is not one-way" in general, and is a way of learning from the learner's perspective. So how can teachers create a place where this "active learning" can take place? The answer is "interactive teaching", which is also the name of this book. Interactive teaching is a teaching method that emphasizes interaction in a place where learners can learn independently.
This teaching content has been produced as an online course called "Interactive Teaching" and is available on the course delivery platform Coursera. This content has also been published in a book of the same name.
This book is based on the content of the Interactive Teaching Academy, a systematic training program that uses Interactive Teaching as a preparatory material, and was created to bridge the gap between making the learning content more 'personal' and making the knowledge actually usable. This course is designed to provide a more in-depth study of the "Week 6 Evaluation to Promote Learning" part of the Interactive Teaching content.
This book deals with rubrics, a method of evaluation suitable for reports and presentations. It discusses what rubrics are, how to create and use them, and presents a variety of examples. We hope that after reading this book you will not only "know" about rubrics, but also be able to "use" them in practice.
As with the online course, the target audience is primarily teachers at universities, colleges, KOSENs and other higher education institutions, as well as postgraduate students seeking such academic positions. We believe that the content of this program will also be useful to teachers of primary and secondary education in junior and senior high schools.
This is one of three books dealing with practical applications of key issues in interactive teaching. Together with the other two books on "Class Design" and "Course Design", we hope that these books will convey our thoughts and help those who want to "personalize learning".
